Daniel Sumner, Director, Agricultural Issues Center, University of California
Daniel A. Sumner is the Frank Buck Distinguished Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Davis and the Director of the University of California, Agricultural Issues Center. He is a Fellow of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and presented the Fellows address at the 2015 annual meeting. Sumner served as the Assistant Secretary for Economics at the USDA, Senior Economist at the President's Council of Economic Advisers and Professor of Economics at North Carolina State University. Sumner was raised on a fruit farm in Northern California. He received his BS from California Polytechnic State University an MS from Michigan State and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.
