Description - The SDG’s will be the single most important policy framework for development driving government and their development partners in the coming 15 years. Ambitious targets have been set under SDG 2, such as eradicating hunger and malnutrition, doubling productivity and incomes of small-scale producers, and increasing investment in agricultural research. The side event organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) in collaboration with the Alliance to End Hunger, will bring together leaders and practitioners from government, multilateral organizations, civil society, academia and the private sector. This is an opportunity to discuss the relevance of this new development framework for different stakeholders and what needs to be done, how and by whom, to translate these commitment into concrete action and results for those who are most affected, the hungry and the poor. The FAO side event will focus on the global dimension. The discussion will continue on the morning of Oct 15, 2015, at a side event organized by the Alliance to End Hunger, in collaboration with FAO, which will focus on the relevance of SDG 2 for the United States.
