Jen Sorenson grew up on a hog farm in southeastern Iowa, and has always had a passion for telling the story of agriculture. After receiving degrees in animal science and journalism and from Iowa State University, Jen worked in a couple of different communications departments, including the Iowa Pork Producers Association, Christensen Farms and McCormick Company, before becoming Iowa Select Farms’ Director of Communications.
Jen has been with Iowa Select Farms for ten years and is responsible for all facets of internal and external communications, media relations, public relations and industry outreach.
In addition, she manages all activities of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation. The foundation, founded in 2006, strives to show gratitude to members of the Armed Forces and their families, provide protein to children and families dealing with food insecurity and strengthen efforts to find cures for childhood cancer while improving the quality of life for individuals and their families battling the disease. They give back approximately $1.5M in these areas each year to support the communities Iowa Select Farms operates in, and the state as a whole.
