Shachi Gurumayum
Head of Business Development, AgBiTech; Co-Founder, MaolKeki
Shachi grew up in a community of smallholder farmers and has nearly two decades of R&D and General Management experience in four continents. He currently heads Business Development for AgBiTech, a leader in the biologicals crop protection business.
Shachi is a co-founder of the MaolKeki Foundation which is catalysing development in Manipur, India, through last-mile ag training, health assessments and nurturing Agri Entrepreneurs. He also advises LadyAgri as part of its Technical Advisory Committee supporting Gender Smart Cooperatives, Agribusinesses and women led SMEs, and sits on the Advisory Board of Sahel Consulting besides being a member of the Expert Review Committee, Food & Agriculture Benchmark of the World Benchmarking Alliance.
In January 2021, Shachi was honoured with a Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, the highest honour conferred to an overseas Indian by the President of India. He is also a member of the 2021 cohort of the Philanthropic Leadership Platform: India-Europe.
