Dr. Salma Sultana

Founder and Chairman, Model Livestock Advancement Foundation

Dr. Salma Sultana is a Veterinarian; first female entrepreneur in the veterinary sector in Bangladesh at the age 25. She dreams a poverty free and self-reliant Bangladesh. She founded a vocational training institute in 2015. Along with the capacity-building program, she has established a veterinary hospital with laboratory diagnostic facilities for providing evidence-based animal health services. In 2016, Dr. Sultana also founded “Model Livestock Advancement Foundation”, that’s the first and only nonprofit, nongovernment animal healthcare, technical education and research-based organization in Bangladesh. It’s working for women empowerment, youth employment, food safety and security, public awareness on zoonosis and antimicrobial resistance, herd health improvement and animal rights. Dr. Sultana received DVM degree in 2012 and MSc in Pharmacology in 2014 from CVASU, Bangladesh and she has Clinical Training from TANUVAS, India. She has been awarded in recognition of her remarkable effort, notable among those are: 1. Joy Bangla Youth Award 2017 for ‘Youth Training and Development’ 2. Mother Teresa Award 2017 for a successful veterinarian, researcher and social worker 3. International Arch of Europe for Quality and Technology Award 2018, for leadership, quality, innovation and excellence 4. Young Change Maker 2018 5. Youth Icon Award
