Marshall Bouton

President Emeritus, Chicago Council on Global Affairs

Marshall M. Bouton is Acting Director & Visiting Scholar at the Center for the Advanced Study of India at the University of Pennsylvania. He is president emeritus of The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, having served as its president from 2001 to 2013. From 1990 to 2001 he was the Executive Vice President of the Asia Society in New York. He has a career-long interest in Indian agriculture stretching back to work for the Ford Foundation and his own research in South India during the early days of the Green Revolution. Dr. Bouton holds an A.B. in history from Harvard College, an M.A. in South Asian studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph. D. in political science from the University of Chicago.
