David Nabarro
Strategic Director of Skills, Systems & Synergies for Sustainable Development (4SD)
David Nabarro leads a Swiss-based start-up social enterprise (4SD), is a 2018 World Food Prize laureate and is curator of the Food Systems Dialogues. As a medical doctor, international civil servant and teacher, he has held various senior positions within the World Health Organisation and wider United Nations system. He has focused on transforming food and health systems so that they work for people and the planet. Dr Nabarro holds a part-time position as Professor of Global Health at Imperial College London.
On Monday, 25th June 2018, the World Food Prize Foundation awarded the 2018 World Food Prize to Lawrence Haddad, and David Nabarro, former special adviser to the UN Secretary General. Announcing the award Ambassador Quinn, World Food Prize President cited the recipients for their “extraordinary intellectual and policy leadership in bringing maternal and child nutrition to the forefront of the global food security agenda and thereby significantly reducing childhood stunting”
