Peking University (PKU) in Beijing, China started hosting Borlaug-Ruan International Interns in 2002.
Established in 1898, PKU strives for improvements in teaching and research and the promotion of interaction among various disciplines.
PKU carries out research and development in basic and applied sciences, social sciences and the humanities, and sciences of medicine, management, and education.
Interns at the PKU work alongside renowned international researchers and experts - like Dr. Dingming Kan, Dr. Hongya Gu, and Dr. Qu Lijia - in the field villages of Qu Zhou and PKU's research labs in Beijing.
The students also have the opportunity to travel around China with their host families and colleagues to see the Great Wall of China, the silk markets, the Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, the Summer Palace, and the Olympic Stadium.
