Aquatic foods – the diverse animals, plants, and microorganisms harvested from and grown in water – offer game-changing solutions to transform food systems to nourish all people, boost equitable livelihoods, while sustaining the health of our planet. In this Borlaug Dialogue hosted by WorldFish and CGIAR, government ministers and development funders voice how anchoring aquatic foods at the heart of the food systems research, investments and policies agenda can lead to COVID-19 recovery and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Together, the panel will share sustainable and inclusive actions to increase the supply and consumption of aquatic foods to synergistically fight malnutrition and hunger, while lowering environmental footprints of our global food systems and providing economic support for the world’s most vulnerable.
