Maharashtra Hybrid Seed Company Limited

The Maharashtra Hybrid Seed Company Limited (Mahyco) in Jalna, India, has hosted Borlaug-Ruan International Interns since 2011.

Established in 1964, Mahyco is the pioneer of high quality hybrid and open pollinated seeds. Through the use of cutting edge technology and intensive research activities, Mahyco has revolutionized the agrarian face of India.

Mahyco carries out research and development in molecular biology, seed health, cytogenetics, pathology, entomology, molecular virology, and plant transformation.

Interns at Mahyco work alongside renowned international researchers and experts in the fields and villages near Jalna.

Interns also have the opportunity to travel around India with their host families and colleagues to see the Godavari river, Shree Ganesh temple, Pan Chakki waterfall, Matsyodari Devi temple, Aurangabad caves, Yamuna river, Chandigarh Monument and the Bibi Ka Maqbara memorial.
