Patricia Wolff

USA | Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food

In a country facing chronic malnutrition and instability, Patricia Wolff built a global model of sustainable development involving agricultural innovation, local manufacturing and nutrition science. In 2004, she founded Meds & Food for Kids (MFK) to fight severe malnutrition in Haiti by producing life-saving Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) locally. Her innovative model uses peanuts grown by Haitian smallholder farmers, creating a sustainable supply chain while transforming the agricultural economy. Over 20 years, MFK has treated over one million children and trained 3,600 farmers, while achieving international food safety standards. Wolff’s vision proves that locally led solutions can save lives and build resilience even in the toughest conditions.
