Nawa Joe Silishebo is a leading advocate for Climate Smart Agriculture and Agroecology, recognized for empowering young farmers and women entrepreneurs across Zambia. As Co-founder and Projects Director of the Young Emerging Farmers Initiative (YEFI), he promotes drought-resistant crops, regenerative practices, and market access solutions. His work through initiatives like NO AGROCHEM, ZYCALA, and YACA champions ecological farming and climate-resilient livelihoods for rural communities. In 2024, he chaired the Southern African Regional Conference of Youth on Climate Change (RCOY), mobilizing 500+ delegates and securing $150,000 for sustainable agriculture. A global voice for food system transformation, Nawa has represented Zambia at COP summits and AU platforms, advocating inclusive agricultural policies. His partnerships with institutions like the Scottish Government, UNDP, and Aberystwyth University reflect his commitment to collaboration. Despite industry pressures, Nawa remains a resilient changemaker, dedicated to advancing sustainable, inclusive food systems across Africa.
