In Spring of 2024, the World Food Prize Foundation opened submissions for Top Agri-food Pioneers (TAP), a new initiative by the Foundation. The 2024 list featured 38 leading innovators. In 2025, 39 innovators from 27 countries were recognized. In honor of the Foundation's 40th anniversary in 2026, 40 pioneers from across the world working to transform food systems will be recognized.
TAP features pioneers of any age, background or career focus working in fields related to food or agriculture. Those selected in the 2024 list comprised the first cohort of TAP, and the 2025 recipients built on this network of trailblazers to facilitate co-learning and collaboration across food systems. This year's cohort will be featured at the 2026 Borlaug Dialogue in Des Moines, Iowa.
Any institution or individual may submit a candidate for consideration for TAP by filling out the easy, 15-minute form linked below. Submissions will open February 1, 2026, and close March 25, 2026. Submissions will be accepted in English, French and Spanish. Self nominations will not be accepted.
