Kate Levasseur
Manager II, Administrative Operations and Archives

Kate Levasseur joined the World Food Prize Foundation in July 2021 and currently serves as Program Manager II, Administrative Operations and Archives.
In this role, Kate advances the stewardship and accessibility of the Foundation’s archival collections in close partnership with the Communications Team and Vice President. She leads the preservation and management of materials related to the World Food Prize Foundation, its Laureates and the organization’s history of recognizing transformative achievements in global food security.
Kate also oversees the Foundation’s public-facing and experiential programs that connect audiences to this history, including the historic tour program at the Hall of Laureates and the management of the Foundation’s volunteer programs, including the Laureate Society and Reserve Corps. She additionally administers the Foundation’s internship program for college students, creating pathways for recruitment, mentorship and professional development for emerging leaders in public history and global food systems work. Through these efforts, she ensures the Foundation’s mission and history are thoughtfully interpreted and made accessible to diverse audiences.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Kate held leadership roles across a range of museums and historic sites, specializing in operations management, stakeholder engagement and research-driven, audience-centered programming. As Associate Museum Manager at the Wells Fargo Museum, she directed daily operations while leading initiatives in program development, historical research and exhibit design. At Living History Farms, she played a key role in the preservation and interpretation of the Flynn Mansion and other historic sites, collaborating with community partners and corporate stakeholders to design educational experiences grounded in primary sources and material culture. Her work consistently emphasized immersive storytelling that connected historical context with contemporary audiences.
In 2021, Kate joined the Board of Directors of the West Des Moines Historical Society, further demonstrating her commitment to public history and community engagement.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in History (2010) and a Master of Public Administration (2017) from Drake University.
