The 2020 winner of the prestigious $250,000 World Food Prize will be announced via a webcast on Thursday, June 11, at 10 a.m. EDT.
Often referred to as the “Nobel Prize for Food and Agriculture,” the World Food Prize is the most prominent global award recognizing an individual who has enhanced human development and confronted global hunger through improving the quality, quantity or availability of food.
U.S. Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue will deliver individual remarks during the announcement. Barbara Stinson, President of the World Food Prize Foundation, will announce the name of the 2020 Laureate.
