World Vegetable Center

The World Vegetable Center (AVRDC) in Hyderabad, India has hosted Borlaug-Ruan International Interns since 2010.

Established in 1971, WorldVeg works to alleviate poverty and malnutrition through the increased production and consumption of safe vegetables.

WorldVeg carries out research and development in health policy, climate change, malnutrition, and women's livelihood improvement.

Headquartered in Shanhua, Taiwan, WorldVeg also has research centers in Thailand, India, and Tanzania, among other countries.

Interns at WorldVeg work alongside renowned international researchers and experts - like Dr. Ram Nair, Dr. Manoj Kumar and Dr. Sai Pratap - in the fields and villages of Hyderabad.

Interns also have the opportunity to travel around Hyderabad and India with their new friends and colleagues to see the Brihadishwara temple, Hussain Sagar Lake, Birla Mandir, Laad bazar, Golconda Fort, Charminar market and the parks along Necklace Road.
