The Honorable George H.W. Bush

Hon. George Herbert Walker Bush was born in Milton, Massachusetts. He served in the Navy during World War II and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and three air medals for his bravery in action.  

Mr. Bush graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. from Yale.  Following in his father’s footsteps, Mr. Bush became interested in public service, serving in many positions throughout his career including: member of the U.S. House of Representatives (from Texas); U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations; Chairman of the Republican National Committee; Chief of the U.S. Liaison Office to the People’s Republic of China; Director of Central Intelligence; Director of the Council on Foreign Relations; 43rd Vice President of the United States; and 41st President of the United States. 

Mr. Bush and his wife Barbara have six children including the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush, and Jeb Bush, former governor of Florida.  Mr. Bush has received various honors and awards including an honorary knighthood (GCB) by Queen Elizabeth II (the 3rd American President to receive this honor), the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award, the NIAF One America Award, the International Security Leadership Award, the George C. Marshall Award, and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Medal.
