Huaijun Zhou

Huaijun Zhou is a professor of animal science at the University of California, Davis, specializing in genomics and immunogenetics. With multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. from Iowa State University, Zhou's research focuses on enhancing poultry health and productivity. He leads the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Genomics to Improve Poultry, funded by USAID, which develops resilient poultry breeds for smallholder farmers in Africa. His work aims to improve disease resistance and heat tolerance, addressing food security challenges. Zhou is the recipient of the National Academy of Sciences Prize in Food and Agriculture Sciences.
