Hon. Debbie Stabenow

U.S. Senator and Chairwoman, Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry

“Made in Michigan” through and through, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow continues to lead on public policy and improve the lives of the people of Michigan and Americans across our country. Her leadership is characterized by an unrivaled work ethic, the ability to build bipartisan coalitions to get things done and a commitment to public service that has set the standard for constituent service.

Throughout her years in public service, she has blazed trails and opened doors for women and girls. Among her many “firsts” – she was the first woman elected to the United States Senate from Michigan.

As Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, her work continues to shape our nation’s food and farm policy, delivering critical food aid across the globe. Senator Stabenow has long been a champion of Farm Bill programs that provide American-grown food, research, and assistance to those in need and invest in American agriculture. She recently secured an additional $1 billion to support in-kind international food assistance through USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation.

In addition to her role as Chairwoman, she is a senior member of the Finance Committee and the Budget Committee and a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee.

The 2024 Farm Bill will be the Senator’s sixth Farm Bill and the third she has led as either Chairwoman or Ranking Member of the Committee.
