Alyssa Brown
Senior Manager II, Global Programs and Strategic Engagements

Alyssa Brown joined the World Food Prize Foundation in February 2023. In her role as Senior Manager, International Dialogues, Alyssa coordinates the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue and Iowa Hunger Summit. Both events are flagship offerings of the World Food Prize Foundation that bring together leaders for discussions on the importance of action to address food security and nutrition in Iowa and around the world.
Alyssa first became involved with the World Food Prize Foundation in 2013 as a participant in the Iowa Youth Institute (IYI). She attended IYI all four years of high school and attended the Global Youth Institute in 2014, continuing on to complete a Borlaug-Ruan International Internship in Guatemala with CeSSIAM and Hormel Foods. She has previously volunteered at several World Food Prize Foundation programs, including the IYI, the Minnesota Youth Institute, and the Borlaug Dialogue. In 2022, she served as Special Assistant, International Dialogues in support of the Borlaug Dialogue.
Prior to joining the World Food Prize Foundation, Alyssa was a Global Food Ventures Graduate Researcher for MnDRIVE at the University of Minnesota, where she managed the project’s research budget and coordinated data collection. She also served as a Dietetic Intern for several public and private entities during her studies, supporting their programs through cross-cultural research and initiatives centered on improving nutrition security and health outcomes. .
Alyssa received a Master of Public Health in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Minnesota in 2022 and Bachelor of Science degrees in Dietetics and Global Resource Systems from Iowa State University in 2020. She is a registered dietitian nutritionist.
