Elliott Dossou-Yovo

Borlaug Field Award recipient; Agriculture and Climate Change Specialist, Africa Rice Center

Elliott Dossou-Yovo is currently a scientist in climate change and agriculture at the Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice) based in M’bé near Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire. His research focuses on the development, validation and scaling of innovative water management technologies to increase the resilience of smallholders farmers to climate change and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from rice-based systems. He also works on integrated rice-vegetable, legume and fish systems to improve income, food and nutrition security of smallholder farmers. Dossou-Yovo joined AfricaRice in 2016 as an International Consultant in Data Analysis and Project Management. Before joining AfricaRice, he was a research scientist in the national agricultural research system in Benin. He earned a Ph.D. in Soil Science at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He has produced more than 25 publications in journal articles, book chapters, and dissertations.
