Antimicrobial Resistance: Preventing the Silent Pandemic in Food Systems

Dr. Dong has been actively conducting basic and applied research in the area of aquatic animal health since 2007. He has studied a number of infectious and emerging infectious diseases in Asian aquaculture, focusing on pathogen identification, diagnostics, host-pathogen interaction, fish immunology and vaccines. He is currently interested in new technologies as alternatives to antibiotics in aquaculture. Dong has authored over 65 international peer-reviewed articles, serving as a member of editorial advisory boards, guest editor, referee for international journals in this field. Dong was an expert resource and consultant for projects led by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the WorldFish Center. Currently, Dong is a faculty member at the School of Environment, Resources and Development, Asian Institute of Technology.
