Josephine George Francis
President, Farmers Union Network of Liberia
Currently serving as the Chief Executive officer of Arjay Farms, a commercial farm located in rural Montserrado County Liberia. Additionally, serves as President of the Farmers Union Network of Liberia and First Vice President of ROPPA .Farmers Union Network of Liberia which was established in 2008 with a membership of over 50,000 men, women and youth.
In addition to a strong agricultural background, she was elected to the 53rd Legislature in the House of Representatives where she served as chair on the committees of agriculture and executive. Additionally, she served as the chair of the Women’s legislative caucus where she successfully established a secretariat and lobbied for funding to support women’s participation in politics in the legislature.
Now retired from politics, she is involved fulltime time in the agriculture sector with a focus on cocoa, coffee, rice and other agricultural products. She is involved with training and capacity building with farmer cooperatives, Community based organization and agri-businesses.
