Dr. Lawrence Haddad

Lawrence Haddad is a Senior Research Fellow in the International Food Policy Research Institute’s Poverty Health and Nutrition Division. He was the Director of the Institute of Development Studies, Sussex from 2004 to 2014. Prior to that, he was a Division Director at IFPRI and a Lecturer in Development Economics at the University of Warwick, UK. He is an economist and his main research interests are at the intersection of poverty, food insecurity, and malnutrition. Haddad was a recipient of the 2018 World Food Prize as a result of his global leadership in elevating maternal and child undernutrition to a central issue within the food security and development dialogue.
