Amb. Michael Klosson

Vice President, Policy and Humanitarian Response, Save the Children

Michael Klosson serves as Vice President for Policy and Humanitarian Response at Save the Children, having joined the agency 11 years ago. He oversees the agency’s public policy and advocacy work with the U.S. and foreign governments as well as the U.S. contribution to its global emergency response work in places like the Middle East and East Africa.  His policy portfolio spans development and humanitarian aid and reform, the sustainable development goals as well as specific thematic areas like health, education, and food security.  He has testified before Congress and represented Save the Children at various international conferences including G20 and G8 summits.   

Prior to joining the agency, Mr. Klosson served as a career Foreign Service officer with assignments such as U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs.  He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hamilton College and holds M.A. and M.P.A. degrees from Princeton University
