Dr. April C. Mason
Provost and Senior Vice President, Kansas State University
April Mason serves as the Provost and Senior Vice President of Kansas State University. She assumed that position in January, 2010. Mason serves as Kansas State University's Chief Academic Officer, with the important duty of oversight of the academic dimensions of the university and to ensure the university's academic standards. In cooperation with the president and the Deans Council, Mason provides leadership in the development, review, and operationalization of policies and goals regarding instruction, research and outreach programs. Mason previously held faculty and administrative positions at Colorado State University and Purdue University.
April holds her doctorate degree in Nutrition and her master's degree in Botany from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN and her undergraduate degree in Biology from University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. Mason’s faculty home at Kansas State University is as a professor in the Department of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health.
April has held Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) leadership positions in the Board of Human Sciences, the Council on Academic Affairs (CAA) and currently represents the CAA on the APLU Board.
