Marie Chantal Messier

Senior Manager – Public Affairs, Nestlé S. A.

Marie Chantal works as Senior Public Affairs Manager at Nestlé S.A.  where she manages global corporate issues in relation with creating shared value through tackling undernutrition and the responsible marketing of food products, notably for mothers and young children.

With a distinct profile that combines business skills and international expertise in health and nutrition, she has led high-level policy dialogue in more than 15 countries, focusing particularly on improving the nutrition of mothers and children through health and social protection programs as well as providing food based solutions, notably through food fortification, private-public sector partnerships as well as linking agriculture and nutrition.

She was formerly at the World Bank as Senior Nutrition Specialist and also held the following positions: Senior Associate for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) in Geneva, Micronutrient Expert at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Haiti, Country Director for Helen Keller International (HKI) in Guinea and Sierra Leone, Project Manager and Nutrition Advisor at the Centre Canadien d’Étude de Coopération Internationale (CECI) in Mali and Health Educator / Promoter for the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) in her home country, Canada. Marie Chantal holds an MBA from Université Laval, a B.Sc. in nutritional sciences from McGill University and is a Registered Dietitian.
