The Honorable Josette Sheeran

Josette Sheeran is President and CEO of Asia Society, leading the organization’s work throughout the U.S. and Asia, across the arts, culture, policy, business, and education. In 2006, United Nations Secretary- General Kofi Annan appointed Sheeran executive director of the U.N. World Food Programme (WFP). A member of the Council of Foreign Relations, Sheeran has received several honors for her leadership in confronting hunger and malnutrition, including: Japan's Nigata International Food Award; France’s Commandeur de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole; and the Grand Official Order of the `Rio Branco,’ Brazil’s highest civilian award.
