Eric B. Pohlman
Rwanda Country Director, One Acre Fund & 2015 Borlaug Field Award Winner
Eric B. Pohlman is the 2015 recipient of the “Norman Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application by the Rockefeller Foundation.” Mr. Pohlman is the co-founder and Rwanda Country Director and Senior Partner of the One Acre Fund which in six years has grown to 1,000 field-based staff and 130,000 farm families in Rwanda. Through careful trial and error, and persistence equal to Dr. Borlaug’s, Eric helped develop the One Acre Fund Model which has a foundation in basic agricultural technology – seed and fertilizer – but the technology is surrounded with an ecosystem of “behavioral technology” that unlocks its potential. Mr. Pohlman received his bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Service Science, Technology and International Affairs from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
