Roger Beachy was appointed to the National Science Board in 2014; and 2009-2011 as Director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Founding president of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis, Missouri; Prof. of Cell Biology at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA; Prof. of Biology, Washington University in St. Louis. Achievements in fields of molecular biology of plants and plant biotechnology. Elected to the U.S. National Academy of Sciences; as Fellow of the AAAS, the American Academy of Microbiology, Foreign Associate of scientific academies in India, The World Academy of Sciences, and others. Awardee of the Wolf Prize in Agriculture and others. Current focus includes increasing collaborations and innovations in agriculture and food sciences.
