Communications and Public Relations
Communications and Public Relations Interns serve as an integral part of the World Food Prize Foundation and Communications Team. Interns will have the opportunity to help bridge the gap between the Foundation’s events and goals with those of the public in order to heighten the Foundation’s reputation and brand. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Communications, one highly qualified undergraduate or graduate student will have the opportunity to engage in communication and media projects across many platforms. Various duties include:
- Writing and editing press releases, articles, newsletters and other information
- Researching and developing targeted media lists
- Outreach to local, national and international media
- Marketing and promoting World Food Prize events
- Website content and design
- Scheduling posts and updating social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram)
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to multitask and meet deadlines, and a willingness to express new ideas while working as part of a team. They will possess knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Constant Contact, social media platforms and web content programs, while learning and asking questions when appropriate.
