Nimsy Agro Solar Concept

Over 70% of the 38 million Smallholder farmers across Nigeria spend up to 40% of their income in operating expensive fossil fuel powered agricultural machines for important farming activities such as irrigation, grain threshing, milling etc. this is negatively affecting their income and affecting productivity. Also, fossil fuel agricultural equipment emits tons of carbon that contributes to climate change that is negatively farmers in Africa causing droughts, unpredictable rainfall and crop failures. Nigeria is blessed with abundant sunlight, what if we could use this sustainable energy that is clean and free to power agricultural equipment and help farmers improve their productivity and income, this is exactly what we do at Nimsy Agro Solar Concept, we build solar powered agricultural equipment as cleaner and sustainable alternatives to help low-income farmers improve productivity, curtail post-harvest losses, boost income and promote a greener agricultural system. We provide our solar agricultural equipment to farmers in two model and these are, on a rental model (pay-per-use) and on lease-to-own model (payments in installments). We currently have 5 solar powered agricultural products we provide to over 7000 smallholder farmers in our production line.

  • Nimsy solar pumps: These are mobile solar irrigation pumps that comes in 1Hp and 2Hp models and 3-wheel mobile carriers for the solar panels and pumps.
  • Nimsy Solar thresher/mill: These are set of mobile grain threshers for maize, sorghum, rice etc and grinding mill powered by 5KWh battery and a solar recharging box. This is very helpful to women farmers.
  • Nimsy Solar dryer: This solar dryer extends the shelf life of perishable from 3 days to 12 months helping farmers fight against post-harvest losses.
  • Rural solar hubs: These are physical areas in a particular rural location that houses our solar equipment from which we provide affordable agricultural services to farmers on rental.
  • Solar irrigation reservoir: We harvest rain water in a ground reservoir that can hold over 3 million liters of water, this is then used to supply farmers within the surrounding area irrigation water at an affordable cost using our solar irrigation pumps.
