The World Food Prize Foundation announced today that Jon Wogman has joined the Foundation as the new Senior Program Manager, Global Youth Programs and Partnerships.
“Jon offers an exceptional background addressing hunger and food security issues in his career at the Congressional Hunger Center in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere. We are honored to have him assume a senior role with our growing youth programs,” said Barbara Stinson, President, World Food Prize Foundation.
In this position, Mr. Wogman will be responsible for providing operational oversight and support to the World Food Prize Foundation’s Youth Institute programs across the U.S. and globally. He will also coordinate the Iowa Youth Institute at Iowa State University and other educational outreach efforts across Iowa, along with executing the Global Youth Institute and administer other teacher training initiatives.
“It is an incredible honor to join the World Food Prize Foundation. I have long admired the organization's commitment towards ending global food insecurity. Throughout my career, I have worked to enhance the impact of young leaders to end hunger, and I am thrilled to support the World Food Prize Foundation's programs, where I will help elevate innovative ideas about ending food insecurity from high school students,” said Mr. Wogman.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Jon worked independently as a Program Specialist and Professional Development coach, where he supported anti-hunger campaigns focused on racial equity and provided career coaching to young professionals working for nonprofits. Previously, he was also the Chief Program Officer of the Food Recovery Network, a program that empowers students to fight food waste and work to end hunger in America. Additionally, Jon held numerous positions at the Congressional Hunger Center in Washington, D.C., including serving as Director of the Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellowship, which focuses on hunger, poverty and racial equality.
Jon graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Master of Public Administration with a focus in Community Development and from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
