The World Food Prize Foundation announced today that Mindy Van Woerkom has been selected as the new Senior Executive Assistant to the President.
“I chose Ms. Van Woerkom for this position within our Foundation based on her extensive legislative and administrative background,” said Barbara Stinson, President, World Food Prize Foundation. "Given her substantial knowledge and her vast experience supporting a variety of executive roles, I am certain that she will contribute significantly as we advance the mission of the Foundation.”
In this position, Ms. Van Woerkom will manage and oversee President Stinson’s schedule, correspondence and executive engagements, while advancing critical administrative procedures and special projects.

Before joining the Foundation, Ms. Van Woerkom worked at Principal Financial Group as a Senior Administrative Assistant. In this position, she managed her team’s schedule while leading various special projects for the Head Business Partner of Global HR.
Previously, Ms. Van Woerkom served as the office manager for Congresswoman Gabbard, where she planned and executed all daily responsibilities and essential logistical tasks. She has also worked in various administrative roles for Iowa Senator Tom Harkin and the Iowa Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.
In 2008, Ms. Van Woerkom graduated from Central College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science.
Ms. Van Woerkom replaces Ms. Meghan Walters who left the Foundation in June 2021 to pursue other interests.
