Welcome to 2021 World Food Prize LIVE Virtual Youth Institute.

This year's online Youth Institute will gather students, teachers, and experts to discuss the most pressing issues we face in fighting hunger at home and abroad. We will connect virtually through the Zoom video conferencing platform. You should have received an email with a link to access the event. 

This page will be used as our main gathering place during the WFPF Live Virtual Youth Institute, so be sure to bookmark it for the event! This aspect of the WFPF Virtual Youth Institute will take place LIVE, so please refer to the following agenda and be mindful of your specific timezone. Roundtable Presentations will use the following guide for the session:

  • 10:35 - 10:55 am  |  Welcome & Introductions
    After a few words from our Room host, Roundtable Experts & Student Presenters will introduce themselves and get to know each other before starting the student presentations.
  • 10:55 am - 12:10 pm  |  Student Presentations
  • Each student will have up to 5 minutes to present their paper, with 3-5 minutes of comments and questions about their presentation from the Experts and other students.
  • 12:10 - 12:30 pm |  Group Discussion
    After all students have presented, students and experts will discuss broad themes that arose during the paper presentations. What similarities or differences exist in the countries discussed? Are there approaches proposed in one presentation that could work in a different context? The discussion topics are up to you!

During this group discussion, we want to hear from you! This Fall, the United Nations will host the UN Food Systems Summit, and leaders from around the world want to hear your ideas about how we can improve food systems around the world.

Food Systems Summit Dialogues offer a powerful opportunity for people everywhere to have a seat at the table at this milestone UN Summit. Dialogues bring together a diversity of stakeholders, including voices that are seldom heard, and provide an important opportunity for participants to debate, collaborate, and take action towards a better future. They give us the chance to connect, meet new partners, inspire and be inspired.

The 2021 WFPF Virtual Youth Institute is an official Independent Dialogue of the UN Food Systems Summit. This means that your feedback will be provided to world leaders as the consider the most pressing issues to put on the agenda for the upcoming Summit.
