Sherill Whisenand

Executive Aide to the President

Sherill Whisenand joined the World Food Prize Foundation in January 2023 as the Executive Aide to the President. Sherill serves Foundation President Ambassador Terry Branstad with scheduling, correspondence, executive engagements and relationship management. 

Prior to joining the World Food Prize Foundation, Sherill had extensive government experience for the State of Iowa with the Iowa Secretary of State and federally, serving as the Iowa District Director for U.S. Representative David E. Young.

Other previous roles include: Executive Aide for Governmental Affairs for Walt Disney Companies, Inc., media relations associate for on-air talent at ABC-TV’s Good Morning America in New York, Executive Aide to the CEO Anthony Robbins of Anthony Robbins International, Inc., and still owns a speakers bureau, Wise Connections. Sherill was an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix School of Business teaching in-person classes for social media, media history, communications theory and business communications. 

For decades, Sherill has been active in local, state and national politics on a volunteer and professional level. Her expertise is as a political consultant in media relations, strategic organization and campaign management for federal, state and local campaigns.

Sherill is a graduate of Central College (Iowa) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications, a Masters Degree in Business Leadership from William Penn University (Iowa) and extensive post-graduate work from Iowa State University in Journalism & Mass Communications.
