The World Food Prize Foundation Will Unveil its 2024 Laureate at the U.S. Department of State

This year’s announcement of the Laureate will mark the 20th year of collaboration with the U.S. State Department in the announcement of the World Food Prize Laureate.

The 2024 winner of the prestigious $500,000 World Food Prize will be announced at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., on May 9, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. EDT.

Awarded by the World Food Prize Foundation, the Prize has been referred to as the “Nobel Prize for Food and Agriculture” and is the most prominent global award recognizing an individual who has enhanced human development and confronted hunger by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world.

Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State, will host the World Food Prize Laureate Announcement and give remarks. Additional remarks will be made by Foundation leadership - Board Chair Paul Schickler, President Ambassador Terry Branstad, Chief Operating Officer Mashal Husain and Chair of the Laureate Selection Committee and 2009 World Food Prize Laureate Gebisa Ejeta

This event is open to the media. It will also be live-streamed at www.worldfoodprize.org/live.
