The World Food Prize Foundation will host its annual Iowa Hunger Summit on July 31, 2024, at the Norman E. Borlaug Hall of Laureates, its international headquarters. This free event, centered around the theme Seeds of Nourishment: Elevating Iowa’s Food Systems, will bring together leaders and advocates from across the state to discuss pressing hunger issues.
“The Iowa Hunger Summit stands as a beacon of unity and empowerment, where voices from all walks of life converge to tackle the urgent challenge of hunger in our state,” said Mashal Husain, Chief Operating Officer, World Food Prize Foundation. “Through engaging sessions, inspiring speakers and valuable networking opportunities, this gathering fuels a collective momentum towards eradicating food insecurity.”
Attendees can anticipate a dynamic agenda featuring keynote speakers, interactive panel sessions and networking opportunities. Using their diverse perspectives, leaders and experts from various fields will share their insights and strategies for confronting hunger and food insecurity. Registration will open on April 17.

Ray Iowa SHARES Humanitarian Award (Iowa SHARES Award), given annually at the Iowa Hunger Summit, recognizing outstanding Iowans who have provided significant leadership in confronting hunger either at home or abroad. BREAKOUT SESSION APPLICATIONS: The World Food Prize Foundation is seeking applications for Breakout Sessions at the Iowa Hunger Summit. All interested participants should have a history of work in improving nutritious food security and strengthening food systems across Iowa. Breakout session presenters should prepare a 45-60 minute presentation designed to equip listeners with practical insight to combat food insecurity.
