June 16, 2009 - Vision Iowa Board grants $2 million to Hall of Laureates

June 16, 2009 - - Iowa Governor Chet Culver announced last week that the state's Vision Iowa Board has awarded a $2 million dollar contingent grant to the Norman E. Borlaug Hall of Laureates.
The $2 million dollar grant brings the total funding for the Hall of Laureates to $23.1 million of the $29.8 million needed to complete the project
In announcing the Vision Iowa grant, Governor Culver pointed to the project's potential as a educational destination for Iowans as well as visitors from outside the state.
“Iowans statewide continue to be enriched by our rich recreational, cultural, entertainment, and educational opportunities,” said Governor Culver. “Today’s grants will help tell the story of Iowans’ contributions to the country, and the world."
