World Food Prize Foundation Announces Appointment of New Global Youth Programs and Partnerships Program Manager

The World Food Prize Foundation announced today that Renee Cooper has joined its staff as a Program Manager.

“Renee brings a wealth of experience and direct knowledge of our global youth programming, " said Ambassador Terry Branstad, President, World Food Prize Foundation. “Her vast experience working alongside youth, empowering them and engaging our future leaders is the exact type of person we are looking for. I am confident that her commitment to our mission and her passion for inspiring the next generation will be an asset to our programs.” 

As a Program Manager, Ms. Cooper will work closely with the Director of Internships and Youth Impact to implement the World Food Prize Foundation’s USDA Wallace-Carver Fellowship, Borlaug-Ruan International Internship and George Washington Carver Internship. 

“I am thrilled to be working at the World Food Prize Foundation to advance Dr. Borlaug’s mission of elevating innovation and inspiring action to sustainably increase food security for all,” said Cooper.  “The Foundation’s internship and fellowship programs provide unique leadership experiences for young people aspiring to make a difference in their communities, nation, and around the world. I am ecstatic to be working with the Youth Team to develop impactful and transformative programs for our future leaders.”

Prior to joining the World Food Prize Foundation, Ms. Cooper worked as the World Food Prize Nebraska Youth Institute Coordinator at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. In addition, she has also worked in recruitment and retention of agricultural leadership, education and communication students. Ms. Cooper has various international experiences including studying abroad in Ecuador and Ethiopia and living in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Ms. Cooper graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology. She received her Masters of Science in Global Health from the Brighton and Sussex Medical School in Sussex, United Kingdom in 2017.
