The World Food Prize Foundation has announced the final call for nominations for its renowned award that recognizes the accomplishments of individuals who have advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world. Nominations of worthy candidates are invited from public and private organizations, academic institutions, governmental organizations, and businesses. The nomination criteria, procedure, and on-line form are available at www.worldfoodprize.org/nominate, by May 1, 2018.
Dr. Norman E. Borlaug, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and the “Father of the Green Revolution,” created the World Food Prize in 1986 to honor outstanding achievement in agriculture and encourage further lifesaving advances in defeating hunger and improving livelihoods. Since that time, this prestigious $250,000 award has been presented to 46 outstanding individuals from 19 countries and the United Nations.
In issuing this annual invitation to nominate, World Food Prize President Ambassador Kenneth Quinn said that: "As we confront the single greatest challenge in human history -- whether we can sustainably feed the more than 9 billion people who will inhabit our planet by 2050 -- it is more critical than ever that we honor and inspire great achievements in food and agriculture."

ABOUT THE WORLD FOOD PRIZE: The World Food Prize is the foremost international award recognizing the achievements of individuals who have advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world.
