2026 Inspiring the Next Generation Award: Kenneth Monjero

Kenneth Monjero received the 2026 Inspiring the Next Generation Award because his efforts have profoundly impacted the lives of future scientists, farmers and leaders in agriculture and food security, particularly in Kenya. He is committed to closing the gap between the scientist and the general public in understanding scientific innovations, most notably by focusing on young people. Monjero strives to encourage curiosity, raise awareness and promote career development for youth by making science fun.

Monjero is a biotechnologist, crop researcher and science communicator at the Kenya Agricultural Livestock Research Organization in Nairobi. He has dedicated his life to advocating for STEM education and inspiring youth in science and agriculture through his work with the Foundation’s Kenya Youth Institute, the KALRO Children Science Centre and the Fun & Education Global Network.
