Robert D. Ray Iowa SHARES Humanitarian Award
The Robert D. Ray Iowa SHARES Humanitarian Award recognizes a current Iowan who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in uplifting their community with dedicated humanitarian service that confronts hunger either at home or abroad. Highlighted at the Iowa Hunger Summit, the award honors the exceptional leadership that former Governor Ray demonstrated when he sent desperately needed food, medicine, Iowa doctors and nurses, to assist refugees in Southeast Asia and is named after the “Iowa Sends Help to Aid Refugees and End Starvation” campaign he created in 1979. Nominate a living Iowan who has gone above and beyond to aid those in need.
