SILT is a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to permanently protecting Iowa farmland for sustainable food production and regenerative agricultural practices, as well as ensuring future generations of Iowa farmers have access to affordable land. Through conservation easements, land donations, and long-term affordable leases, SILT removes barriers to land access while preserving working farms in perpetuity. By protecting land near Iowa communities and supporting sustainable farming practices, SILT advances local food security, healthy soils, clean water, and thriving local economies.
