The Polk County Supplemental Foods Program (officially the Commodity Supplemental Food Program) offers monthly, no-cost food and nutrition education to low-income individuals aged 60 and older residing in Polk County (and nearby counties including Dallas, Boone, Jasper, Story, and Warren). Participants receive a nutritious package through a store-like distribution at Polk County River Place (2309 Euclid Ave, Des Moines)—or via free home delivery if unable to pick it up due to health or transportation issues.
