Interactive workshops provide the opportunity for registered participants to collaboratively define key issues, explore problems and learn about new strategies, tools and technologies in food systems.


The Global Food Security Index: Exploring Challenges and Developing Solutions

The 10th iteration of the Global Food Security Index (GFSI) launches on October 12, 2021. This long running index developed by Economist Impact and funded by Corteva Agriscience will be used in the workshop to analyze data across multiple years and identify lessons learned across the entire program. Additionally, the 2021 GFSI tool will be used to examine underlying factors affecting food insecurity across the world.

How Resiliently Designed Food Systems Achieve Both NRM and Nutrition Wins

Examining ways to apply agroecological principles to build agricultural and livestock systems, this workshop will demonstrate how to achieve gains in both ecological and human health. The comparison between food security programs at different stages of development in Kenya and the Democratic Republic of the Congo allows us to analyze the environment-nutrition nexus in these areas. Additionally, the session will walk participants through the use of a new Resilience Design (RD) tool developed under the USAID’s SCALE Award.
