March 3, 2010 -- Catherine Bertini, the 2003 World Food Prize Laureate, will deliver the keynote address at the Rural Development Institute's (RDI) "Women and Land Luncheon" on March 11 in Seattle.

Bertini will headline the "Women and Land Luncheon," held in conjunction with International Women's Day 2010. RDI organizers say the event is aimed at "supporting efforts to strengthen women’s land rights, giving them a secure source of shelter, nutrition and economic stability."

Bertini, who served as executive director of the UN World Food Program from 1992 - 2002 and is currently a professor of public administration at Syracuse University, was the second woman to win the World Food Prize.
