Editha Msishu is a pioneering force in agri-food innovation, serving as CEO of Freshpack Technologies and inventor of the patented Freshpack Box- a smart-fabric cooling solution that extends vegetable shelf life by 50%. Her work directly benefits smallholder farmers and market vendors by reducing food waste and increasing income. Under her leadership, Freshpack has gained international recognition, with support from the Halcyon Incubator, Tony Elumelu Foundation, and Heifer International. She has forged key partnerships with Everich (China), TAHA, and SUGECO to enhance production and distribution. Editha aims to expand into four new regions and scale production to 1,000 boxes per month by 2025, alongside launching solar-powered display units and cold transport carriers by 2027. Despite limited resources, Editha’s determination has turned Freshpack into a high-impact enterprise advancing food security, climate resilience, and economic empowerment across Africa.
