Michael Barron developed a comprehensive global regenerative agriculture technology stack at Bayer, which integrates advanced sampling, sensing and modeling technologies. He has created a robust Measurement, Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MMRV) system, enabling precise quantification of global environmental and economic outcomes. His impact is demonstrable across nearly 4 million acres worldwide, where his leadership has catalyzed the adoption of regenerative practices. This has led to significant improvements in soil health, water quality, and biodiversity, alongside 680,000 MTCO2e of carbon sequestration and nearly $97M in economic benefits around the world. His work extends beyond Bayer as he actively seeks partnerships with top-tier technology providers and engages with various stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, non-profits, and community leaders. He also mentors emerging leaders at schools like Harvard and UPenn, fostering cross-disciplinary involvement. Barron currently serves as Global Technology Strategy & Innovation Lead in Ecosystem Services at Bayer in St. Louis, Missouri.
