Ndashe Philemon Kapulu

Dr. Ndashe Philemon Kapulu is the Assistant Director for Research Services at the Zambia Agriculture Research Institute (ZARI), part of the Ministry of Agriculture. ZARI, Zambia’s largest agricultural research body, focuses on developing crop and soil technologies. Dr. Kapulu holds a Bachelor’s in Natural Resources Management from the University of Zambia, an MSc in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security from Lancaster University, and a PhD in Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Security from Leeds University. With 18 years in agricultural research, he specializes in sustainable and climate-smart agriculture, aiming to enhance resilience in smallholder farming systems. His interests include agricultural and food-system transformation, especially concerning food production, supply, and diets within environmental, policy, and trade contexts. He contributes to several technical working groups in Zambia, addressing trade, policy, fertilizer, food safety, and food security, and has published several peer-reviewed papers on agrifood systems.
